A Tale of Pirates, Paintings, and Purring Cats.
''What is not worth dreaming about...''
Hello there, buddy!
Charlie the ginger cat has returned. My dear friend, I hope my stories bring you joy and offer a brief break from your daily routine.
Today, I’ll share my uncle's tale, strangely connected to one of my hostess’s beautiful oil paintings.
A Curious Conversation and a Legendary Pirate.
Nobody knows when my uncle first heard this story. Still, many believe it came from a cat born in a library surrounded by a home art gallery—one who learned to create artwork and soak up knowledge.
He once overheard a curious conversation between two men—Jeremy and Paul.

Jeremy seemed puzzled, searching through bookshelves.
"Are you going on vacation?" Paul asked. "Looking for a fun thriller to read during your trip?"
"I need a chronicle," Jeremy replied. "Specifically about the pirate wars in the Caribbean Sea during Captain Blood’s time."

Paul raised his eyebrows in disbelief.
Jeremy continued, "Maybe it's foolish, but we all know strange things happen. I re-read the famous book The Odyssey of Captain Blood. Have you ever read it?"
Paul gave him a sideways glance.
Jeremy grinned and launched into the story:
"Captain Blood was falsely condemned in England and sent as a slave to Barbados. But not only did he escape, he became a leader of seafarers and even seized a ship.
His honesty and boldness were legendary at the time.

During one of their adventures, they anchored in a hidden cove after a fierce battle with a Spanish squadron. The next day, they spotted the flag of England flying above a fortress on a nearby hill.
A cannonball fired from the fort missed their ship, exploding on the starboard side. After storming and taking the bastion, they were stunned—only a handful of marines defended it!
The fort's leaders had been away, chasing Captain Blood. He seized the moment to repair the ship and replenish supplies.

That week, Blood supposedly hid half his treasure on the slope of that same hill. As usual, he left cryptic instructions. To find it:
- Go to the island.
- Wait for the start of the month when barberry bushes bloom.
- When a rainbow appears after an afternoon rain, stand beneath the longest branch of the barberry bush where it cuts through the bottom arc of the rainbow.
- The treasure lies beneath that very bush, on the eastern bay slope.
“I’m going to find that treasure!” Jeremy exclaimed.

Paul was stunned. “Jeremy… did you see a doctor recently?”
But Jeremy had made up his mind. He’d already quit the company he dedicated years to, and now he was finally free to follow his dream of finding Captain Blood’s treasure.
From Pirate Tales to Paintings.
As for me—Charlie—I finished my nap and some fantastic tuna. Just then, I spotted the modern painting on the wall of the kitchen.
It showed a rainbow over the sea, barberry bushes on a hill, and a bay with two hills to the left. Hmm... that looked oddly familiar!
I scratched my brow in confusion.

A Surprising Reveal.
Hello, dear reader—Nik here.
Little did I know that our cat Charlie could spin such an incredible tale! Here's the truth:
The oil painting Charlie described? It was created by my wife Elena, based on a photograph I took during our Caribbean vacation.
